The principle of bicycle leasing is very simple. As an employee, you use a qualitative bicycle through your employer for a longer period (usually 36 months). Monthly you pay a very limited amount during the lease period, and you can purchase the bicycle at a very advantageous residual amount after the lease has ended. During the lease period you are entitled to maintenance, assistance and a total insurance which allows you to ride completely carefree.
When you lease a bicycle, you have to say: You choose the type of bike you like most. From mountain bike, racing bike or trekking bike to an E-bike or speed pedelec. In addition, you have a choice of all the brands and models currently available on the market. Bicycle leasing is offered by most companies through a flexible wage system, where you as an employee can choose to exchange a small piece of gross pay for a brand new bike. On top of that, you can receive a tax-free bicycle allowance of up to EUR 0.24 per kilometer for your commute. The exact amount may vary from employer to employer.
